What we're about
The BHS IMPROV TROUPE uses drama and comedy in our performances at schools throughout the community to start discussions with students about a variety of topics that touch students lives such as:"New school jitters", alcohol/drug use, child abuse, bullying, etc.

Below:  Michelle, playing a 3rd-grader, tells the audience "something happened to me, and I'm afraid to tell", in the good touch/bad touch scene on child sexual abuse at Hillcrest Elementary in 2007, sponsored by the Brookings Area Child Protection Team. Below:  Forrest and Helen at the annual Improv holiday party, when each member acts as a "secret Santa" to another and each member contributes a dish from a different nationality to the potluck   Below:  Elizabeth plays the role of the big sister, about to give her little sister "the kind of touch that hurts on the outside, and the inside", even though her little sister "just wanted to play Barbies"
Below:  Ashton, Helen, and Michelle build a real bridge from newspaper and masking tape, at the same time they build a metaphorical "bridge", out of communication and cooperation at Improv Camp 2007 Below:  Jessie got a home-made jaguar blanket, (but it didn't smell like real jaguars)   Below:  For Christmas, Ashton got a Strawberry Shortcake blanket that smelled like real strawberries

Below:  Marlene, Forrest, and Jimmy try to find their way across "the bridge" during a team-building exercise at Improv Camp 2008

Below:  Jessie puts the finishing touches on Jimmy (a.k.a. "the Joker") for the 2008 back-to-school performance at BHS
